OBSERVATION DE LA TERRE POUR LA GESTION DURABLE DE L\u2019EAU ET DES RESSOURCES NATURELLES EN AFRIQUE DU NORD<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

L\u2019Afrique du Nord est confronte\u0301e a\u0300 des de\u0301fis majeurs tels que la se\u0301cheresse et la de\u0301sertification. 70 % de l\u2019eau utilise\u0301e dans la re\u0301gion est destine\u0301e a\u0300 l\u2019irrigation. L\u2019Observatoire du Sahara et du Sahel (OSS et ses partenaires oeuvrent a\u0300 l\u2019ame\u0301lioration de la gestion de l\u2019eau et des ressources naturelles gra\u0302ce au renforcement des capacite\u0301s, a\u0300 la sensibilisation, et a\u0300 l\u2019utilisation de donne\u0301es et d\u2019outils d\u2019observation de la Terre. Les services lie\u0301s a\u0300 l\u2019agriculture et a\u0300 la de\u0301gradation des sols fournis par le projet ame\u0301liorent la qualite\u0301 de vie des communaute\u0301s en minimisant l\u2019importation de nourriture, en atteignant des niveaux plus e\u0301leve\u0301s de se\u0301curite\u0301 alimentaire et en disposant de plus de terres pour l\u2019agriculture gra\u0302ce a\u0300 la lutte contre la de\u0301gradation des sols.<\/p>

The Sahara and Sahel Observatory (OSS) and its partners aim to improve water and natural resource management through capacity building, awareness, and using EO data and tools. The agriculture and land degradation services provided by the project improve communities\u2019 quality of life by minimizing food importation, reaching higher levels of food security, and having more land for agriculture by combating land degradation.<\/p>
